Labour’s options for a short term lockdown could see the financial state and culture shut down ‘multiple’ times this winter season, senior figures admitted yesterday.

Asked whether Labour recognized that the measure may be required ‘multiple’ occasions by the winter season and spring, Miss Reeves explained to the BBC’s Andrew Marr Present: ‘If that is what is needed then that is the solution that has to be taken, because we’ve got to get a grip on this virus.’

She additional: ‘The tiered approach is not functioning. Tier Two is just a holding ground right before you go into Tier 3.’

Cupboard Business Minister Michael Gove yesterday explained he was ‘concerned’ by the admission from Miss Reeves.
