The only two people of a very small Italian town are not getting any odds with the coronavirus.
Giovanni Carilli, 82, and Giampiero Nobili, 74, have no neighbors and not often go away the largely abandoned city of Nortiesce, but they are strictly upholding the country’s COVID-19 regulations, insisting on donning masks and remaining at least a meter apart at all situations.
“I’m lifeless frightened of the virus,” Carilli informed CNN. “If I get unwell, I’m on my individual, who would search just after me? I’m outdated, but I want to retain dwelling below hunting right after my sheep, vines, beehives, and orchard. Searching truffles and mushrooms. I take pleasure in my existence.”
In the meantime, Nobili, who fulfills frequently with his neighbor for a socially distant coffee, explained to the information outlet:
“Wearing a mask and respecting social distancing is not just for health and fitness explanations. … It is not something ‘bad’ or ‘good.’ If there are principles, you require to abide by them for your personal sake and other people’s. It is a matter of principle.”
