Joe Biden’s polling edge about President Trump eroded this week amid The Post’s scandalous revelations about his son Hunter’s foreign dealings — but the Democratic candidate even now maintains a substantial guide.
The IBD/TIPP national tracking poll, introduced Saturday, places Biden at 50 % in the head-to-head matchup, with Trump at 43 per cent. The 7-issue advantage is perfectly exterior the survey’s 3 per cent margin of error.
But the poll of 1,009 probably voters noticed Biden’s assistance slip by just over 2 percentage factors since Monday — and uncovered an increase of just beneath 1 p.c for the incumbent.
The IBD/TIPP survey found power for Biden between impartial voters, who break up their support among Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016, but now back again the challenger by a 9-% margin.
The results also hinted at the possibility of a substantial selection of “shy Trump” voters in the citizens: whilst 47 per cent of respondents said they think that their neighbors are Trump voters, only 36 of them say they are surrounded by Biden backers.
