Berkeley City Council: Violating coronavirus mask mandate could spark $100 fine


Those caught with no putting on a mask in Berkeley, Calif., could be subject matter to a significant great.

The City Council passed an ordinance Tuesday night time to impose a $100 great on folks who violate the city’s mask mandate that was adopted in June to stem the unfold of coronavirus.

Code enforcement officers will be issuing individuals citations to mask violators.

KQED reports that the city will be paying close notice to parks, dining places, events, and faculty college students.

Officials with the University of California, Berkeley sent out a message about the summer months that mentioned there has been a “noteworthy enhance in UC Berkeley college students tests good for COVID-19.” They explained most of people new conditions stemmed from higher education events.
