A gentleman who appeared like he had occur to pray at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Park Slope in its place walked off with the contents of the weak box, the church and law enforcement mentioned Saturday.

The “prayerful” suspect waited until the church was vacant to make his go, the Diocese of Brooklyn reported.

Surveillance video clip reveals the alleged sinner carrying a wood collection box off to the facet of the church, kneeling to slash it open and then stuffing the dollars into his pants pocket prior to casually heading out onto 9th street.

The theft was identified about 4 p.m. Friday by a Franciscan nun who was sanitizing the pews, the Diocese said. She did not know how much income was stolen.

“I am saddened by what occurred within our beautiful church yesterday, but I am grateful to God that no one particular was injured. I fully grasp in these unprecedented instances, many men and women have lost their work opportunities and have to have support, but this not how you transform to the church for assist. Police explained the suspect a white person, 5 feet 10 inches and 160 lbs, carrying an orange shirt, black jeans black sneakers, blue hat, black confront mask and carrying a black briefcase.
